So you have a website, now what?
Our whole company was founded in 2008 when our first client came from a friend asking me this very question.
TechNicole Support (formerly Breaking Even Communications) has since worked with hundreds of individuals, companies, and non-profits with the very individualized answers that come out of the very simple-seeming question: so I have this, now what?
Here’s what I do in three categories:
Marketing: This involves getting your business in front of current and potential customers and building relationships online with tools like social media, email newsletters, and blogging.
Maintenance: Keeping your website up-to-date not only means making sure information and website software are current, but also ensuring customer happiness and hacker unhappiness.
Training: I train people one-on-one, in small groups, or in large groups on technology topics I know about.
Here’s a bit about me:
About Me (Nicole Ouellette)
I began internet life as a casual blogger in 2005 and brought my love of writing, marketing, and small business development into Breaking Even’s blog in 2007. I took the business full-time and moved my blog to WordPress in 2009. In 2025, I dissolved the corporation (my full-time team found other great gigs) and now just get to work on the projects I want to work on. Always a Mainer at heart, I spend most of my time in upstate New York. I love many things like audiobooks, short dogs, and TikTok. At some point, I’ll write a cool, longer profile, but my full work history is on LinkedIn.
The Two People You Might Also Hear From When We Work Together
Jane Holland, Bookkeeper/Manager
As a hospitality and event planning career professional spanning multiple states and countries, Jane moved to Bar Harbor, Maine two decades ago. She ran her bed and breakfast for fourteen years and cofounded the Bar Harbor Merchants Association. She’s also the admin of the I Love Bar Harbor Maine Facebook group, which has over 10,000 members. When she’s not providing great customer service or keeping the bills paid, Jane loves going on adventures in her car, motorcycle, or camper van and when she sticks closer to home, you’ll find her exploring Acadia National Park.
Matthew Baya, Special Projects/Systems Admin
A system admin at Williams College with over two decades of experience, Matt is a seasoned veteran in WordPress with his own web hosting company. He’s worked with us on various website projects over the last seventeen years and continues with us on classes and specialized development projects. When not nerding out, Matt hosts a radio show for WERU and runs Minecraft camps for local kids in the summer.
A Team Approach
Sometimes, your business conundrums may require input that’s beyond our specialty. That’s why we have strong relationships with professionals who provide complimentary services.
We know database experts, POS consultants, and even computer repair pros. If we can’t do it, we know someone awesome who can, and we are happy to refer you to them.
