This summer, I made plans to go to Vegas in October. My trip happens in about two weeks so I am in full planning mode.
My friend Sarah is meeting me for part of the trip and after that, I'm on my own. I've been emailing companies for informational interviews, contacting other bloggers to arrange meetups, and am even trying to get in a visit to UNLV (they have masters programs in media and business administration). Still my plans have yet to solidify and I will have tons of time to explore the area.
So what are you favorite places in Vegas? Any local foods/restaurants I have to try? What is totally overrated and lame? I am open to all experiences and while I've been reading a lot of travel websites, I take much more stock in your comments here. Thanks for your help!
We stayed on the old strip instead of the new one and were glad we did. The Golden nugget I think the hotel was called. Was a good one.
• Make sure to get beer in a sixty ounce plastic football and then walk the main streets guzzling it at three in the morning.
• The drive to Area 51 is well worth the long haul down the Extraterrestrial highway.
• Take advantage of the cheap prime rib. Have four of them during your stay and bring one back for me.
The Elvis museum is cute and kitschy, right behind the fashion show mall on the strip. Even better, if you call them, they’ll come pick you up at your hotel if you don’t have a rental car, for FREE!
Slots-o-Fun way down at the end by Circus Circus has the best foot long (seriously 12″) hotdogs for a buck! add chili for another buck.
Water massage at the shops underneath the Aladdin is AWESOME, $20 for 20 minutes and it feels really cool (no, you don’t get wet)
Personally, I could hang out at M&M World for a few hours just laughing at all the M&M stuff!
Hope you have a fabulous time!
Consider eating at the Eiffel Tower restaurant for lunch. It is a pretty cool view, fancy, but much much cheaper than it is at dinner.
Oh, if you are into clubbing, and you have at least even number of guys and girls (or more girls), definitely try to get away without paying cover. Should work.
Have fun!!
